Thank you everyone who entered the raffle.

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST before you contact me with questions.

I completed a blind draw via Random.Org and filmed it usingย Periscope.ย It’s pretty boring/anti-climatic to watch (since names aren’t revealed,) but if you’re curious, I’ve saved the recording HERE.

The complete winners list is below. All winners have been contacted by email.

I have done my best to share enough info that you can identify yourself…while still maintaining the privacy of our winners. Each winner is identified by the First Name they entered into the form, their country, and the first few letters of their email address. I scrubbed for common names/email combos and added a few extra characters to help ensure info is unique.

If any of this data misleads you into thinking you have won and you did not, my sincerest apologies. If you think you won and have not been contact by email by 11pm PDT on August 6th, you can email me.

At long last – the Winner and Prize list. I’ve followed the same naming as before but now you will see the prize as well. You can check out the image below (but formatting caused some info to cut off) or you can click HERE to see a spreadsheet.

I hope that everyone is receiving something that will bring you joy. Yes,ย the random nature of the prize draw means you may end up with something you already have or won’t use. Next year I will be looking into ways that prizes can be selected to ensure everyone gets something new to them.

What’s next? Winners have been contacted and I’m gathering their contact info. I will be emailing the donors with their winner(s) info starting on Monday August 10, 2015. Prizes will ship direct to winners from donors.

Wow, I’m a winner (I think)! GenCan’t is really great. ๐Ÿ™‚ I didn’t learn of any organized GenCan’t gatherings in Israel, but I did participate in the SoloCon!

Thank you Suzanne and the others who organized and contributed to the Can’tvention, and again thank you to all the people who donated prizes for it! The Boardgame community is really so generous. I’ve only ever given boardgame gifts to friends, maybe I should save a few things to give to boardgame-loving strangers. ๐Ÿ˜€

And a special thank you to the SoloCon organizers! They got me to look at solo-gaming a bit more deeply and I believe their GeekLists are what got me to learn about the GenCan’t in the first place. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Congrats on all the winners!

Curious too, will you be releasing (or did and I missed it?) numbers of entrants?

Whomever you are out there, winning Doug, represent well!

I think that I may have won! No email yet though. To ensure I don’t miss it, what email address would it be coming from?

Once the emails have been sent, will this be done again for unclaimed prizes? Or will that simply be handled on a case-by-case basis? Just want to make sure that I don’t miss anything! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey Suzanne, (@startupcardgame here), I know it’s still a year away, but can I volunteer now to help you with next year’s GenCant? I’m a software engineer for Eventbrite and I could potentially write some tools for your use that might streamline some of your pain points, such as raffle management and de-duping entries, that sort of thing.

Feel free to shoot me an email at andy @ commadelimited.com.

Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Thank you to the organizers and to those who donated prizes to make GenCan’t even more exciting! What a fun community this is. I was super bummed to find I couldn’t go to GenCon this year until I found out about GenCan’t! (then I was only less bummed.)
Does your tweet mean that everyone who won has been emailed? I don’t see anything, even in my spam folder. So happy to see my name up there!

Wow! So many winners and still no luck for me.
Congrats to all the winners and a HUGE thanks again to Suzanne and all of the prize donors for putting this together. I’ve only run small scale giveaways and even those were a bit of work, I can only imagine how much time this must have taken you to organize.

Hoping 2016 will be my year. ๐Ÿ˜‰

This is more of a question for the donor, but…
Are there any options in the event we’ve won something we already own?

I think your options are to regift it, trade it, or decline it. Unfortunately I could not manage a selective prize pool this year. It makes sense to find a way to do this because prizes are awarded randomly so it’s completely possible you win something you already own or something you can’t use (i.e. an insert for a game you don’t have.) But logistically it wasn’t possible this year.
