What can I say? 2020 is a year for the history books – and it’s not even June yet.

Games cannot solve the world’s problems, but they can provide a haven from some of the troubles for a bit. And that’s why events like GenCant are more important than ever. We want to be here for you, more than ever.

I am working to make #GenCant2020 another special event. But I need your help. To be upfront, GenCant is spearheaded, funded, and almost solely operated by one person. This year, with large traditional conventions making the switch to the digital sphere and publishers scrambling to adjust to the way things work – GenCant needs your help to spread the word about our event, call for publishers to get involved, and help ensure our event doesn’t get lost among the giants. And get involved yourself! If you’d like to help run digital gaming tournaments or host an event yourself, don’t be shy!

So where does GenCant fit within the bigger sphere of conventions nowadays?

  • We’ve been around! The first GenCant happened in 2014 and we’ve always been digital/virtual!
  • We’re community focused and driven. GenCant is all about making space for all gamers to have fun and celebrate gaming – from anywhere.
  • We’re free! Being accessible to the masses has been a primary purpose from day 1.
  • We have a focus on interactive events and gamer participation that give YOU an opportunity to experience the world games!

I hope that you consider helping to spread the word about GenCant and think about getting involved directly yourself! Check out the GET INVOLVED page for a bit more info.

As we prepare over the next weeks, I hope you are healthy and safe. I am really looking forward to another wonderful GenCant year with you.
