It’s back! Last year, our inaugural game of #MegaKaruba was a mega hit. Dozens of players joined us live as we collectively played a game of Karuba together. So much fun was had, we decided to do it TWICE this year.

Please join us Thursday August 17, 2017 AND/OR Friday August 18, 2017 for the GenCant-wide game of Karuba! Thank you to HABA for sponsoring our GenCant2017 kick off event.

Tiffany Caires (@TheOneTar), will be hosting our streams of this Spiel des Jahres nominated game. To play along, all you need to do is load up the video stream! Tiffany will call out the tiles on air, and then you’ll just place tiles on your board at home as you normally would. Play along live, chat in the chat room with HABA and other players, and share pics of your Karuba adventure. And don’t worry – if you can’t play live, we’ll leave the video up so that you can play along on your own later. And this matters because…

If you play along and tweet a photo of your board with the hashtag #MegaKaruba and tag @HABA_usa or comment on the BGG Guild thread, you’ll be entered to win a $40 gift card to HABA’s online store! And, as a special bonus prize, for our kick off stream on Thursday, the winner will also receive a custom Karuba box insert from Insert Here!

You can follow and play along with everyone on Tiffany’s YOUTUBE or TWITCH channel. Watch, play, and chat!

*The Fine Print

  • One entry per person (but share as many pics as you’d like)
  • Post your picture no later than Noon PT August 19 for entry
  • If you tweet, you MUST use the #MegaKaruba hashtag and the @HABA_usa handle to be included
  • Score is irrelevant for entry

We hope you’ll join us for our jungly journey this year!

Just noticed that my board game shop won’t be getting this game in time. :\
Good luck to all players! 😀

For what it’s worth, last year we had a number of people participate just by drawing the board grid on a piece of paper and drawing the paths instead of playing with tiles. It worked quite well! 🙂

I’m not familiar with Karuba at all, so I’m watching Rahdo’s playthrough to get an idea what to do. Here’s the link, if anyone else needs it. If you have a preferred teaching/playthrough video, please post it too. 🙂
